MDIS Talentime 2012 - Judges from Intune Music School

Intune Music School directors Aaron Lim and Peng Chi Sheng were invited to judge a Talentime Competition organised by MDIS in October 2012 for students of the institution. Our Intune Artiste Jerome Won was also invited to be one of the judges for this Grand Finals Event!

Be Intune With Broadway Meets Opera 29 Sep 2012

Intune Music School was proud to have held our very 1st Broadway and Classical Opera concert, "Be Intune With Broadway Meets Opera", on 29 September 2012, at The Arts House, Living Room! We had 2 performances, one at 3pm and one at 8pm, and it was full house for both of them! ;-p

Our classical singing instructor Mr. Hawk Liu led a group of his personal students as well as his students from Intune Music School to present this unique and wonderful concert, presenting popular songs from Broadway musicals as well as Classical operas!

NEA Eco Music Challenge 2012 Grand Finals!

The National Environmental Agency (NEA) Eco Music Challenge 2012, a national songwriting competition, was organised this year with the Grand Finals held on 25 August 2012 at The Cathay foyer!

All the contestants and judges of NEA Eco Music 2012!!

Competitors were from all ages and walks of life, and this year there was even a special Schools Category, to encourage younger Singaporeans to be more creative when going Green.

Intune Music School's director, Mr. Peng Chi Sheng, was honoured to be one of the mentors for this competition, as well as one of the judges for the Grand Finals for this year's competition! He judged alongside music luminaries like Clement Chow, Jack Ho (of popular performing duo Jack and Rai), Jack Lim, as well as a representative from NEA.

The winner of Eco Music Challenge 2012 was Shaun Jansen - The World Needs Help, and the winning song will also be the Theme Song for Clean & Green Singapore 2013! The 1st Runner-Up was: Timothy Thomas and Hiroshi Kondo - Gonna Make It Right. And, the 2nd Runner-Up was: Chloe Chia and Evan Low - Yours And Mine.

The winners of this year's Eco Music 2012!!

For the Schools Category, the winner was Gao Xilinnayi for 'This Is Our Paradise', and Yang Xinyi for 'Us, Everyone'. Yang Xinyi is also a Hwa Chong Institution student, and he performed with our student Leon Chua, as well as budding talents Kimberly and Kelly.

There were also special guest performers for this year's event, including local jazz singer and friend of Intune Music School, Ms. Elaine Lam. Our very own vocal instructor Zuo En was also present to sing for one of our regular songwriters, Jason Guan, for his finalist entry.

Overall, the event was a great success and everyone had lots of fun, especially the finalists, performers and the judges! The audience certainly enjoyed themselves, and we all look forward to the next instalment of the Eco Music Challenge by NEA, hopefully next year! ;-p

Intune Music Activities at Japan Creative Centre JCC!

Intune Music School was actively involved in a few activities at the Japan Creative Centre (JCC) during these past few months.

The first event was held on 23 June 2012, and our director Mr. Peng Chi Sheng was invited to give a talk on the music in the film 'Nodame Cantabile Final', which was screened at JCC to a select audience. Chi Sheng also invited his student and friend, Ms. Sim Boon Hui, to also share her thoughts about the music in the film and also share some insight about the composer of the music.

It was a lovely sharing session which ended with a certificate presentation by the Director of JCC, Minister Hiroyuki Yamamoto.

The 2nd event that our director Peng Chi Sheng was involved in incidentally was the Farewell of Director of JCC, Minister Hiroyuki Yamamoto on 6 Sep 2012. This event was a farewell party and Chi Sheng conveyed our best wishes to the minister, wishing him all the best in his future endeavours!

Irwin Fua, student of Intune Music School, is 1st runner up in Sunsilk Academy Fantasia singing competition 2012!

Congratulations to Irwin Fua, a student of Intune Music School, for winning 1st runner-up in the Sunsilk Academy Fantasia reality singing competition 2012! The Grand Finals was held on 16 September 2012, Sunday, from 7-9pm, and the results show was broadcast 'live' on Starhub Channel 110 at 10pm!

For the Grand Finals, Irwin first sang his own original composition, 梦想 (Dreams), which talks about being brave enough to pursue our dreams. Irwin certainly has been very determined and persevered with his dream to achieve his 1st runner-up position in this nationwide competition that was also telecast 'live' on Starhub Channel 110!

The Grand Finals also showcased the past contestants and gave them one more opportunity to shine on the Sunsilk stage! This was a lovely reunion and many of the fans were happy to see the contestants they supported in the previous rounds.

For his 2nd song, Irwin performed 唯一 (Wang Lee Hom), and it was a sincere and honest performance of this classic love song! Irwin certainly looked the part with his nice maroon suit and his cute blue bow tie.
