The World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) has been held in Hollywood for the past 15 years, giving a performance platform to singers, actors, dancers, models, comedians, bands, instrumentalists and variety acts all around the world!
Intune Music School is proud to support this event, as our director Mr. Aaron Lim is Team Director for Team Singapore 2012!
Contestants from over 40 countries all around the world gather to compete with each other, and they represent the best of the best in each of the respective fields of entertainment. Winners will be awarded medals, and possibly also scholarships to various music institutions in the US. This will certainly be an invaluable learning experience for all contestants, and is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete, have fun and learn too.
This year, as Team Director for Team Singapore, I am proud to invite all interested contestants to contact me about taking part in WCOPA, and represent the cream of the crop in performing arts from Singapore. Contestants will gain an opportunity to perform in front of industry experts and professionals from the United States, right in the heart of the worldwide entertainment industry - Hollywood - and possibly be scouted by talent scouts from all around the world.
All contestants will only have 60 seconds to perform onstage, to showcase their performance abilities and impress the judges. There will be a number of rounds leading up to the finals, and contestants are advised to prepare up to 3-4 repertoire items for the entire competition. Contestants can take place in a large variety of categories, for eg singers can take part in pop, country, jazz; dancers can take part in ballet, jazz, ballroom, hip hop etc.

This is only the 2nd time that Singapore will be fielding a team to take part in this prestigious international performing arts competition (the first time being in 2008), and I hope that you will help to publicise this event to your students / staff / performers / models, by way of email, so that they can understand more about the event and take part in this competition. It would also be great if you should decide to send a team to take part, on behalf of your good organisation.
Entries will only be admitted after strict auditions held in Singapore. Auditions are only by appointment, and will be conducted by myself, as Team Director. Please reply to this email if you are keen to set an audition date. Closing date for auditions is 10 April 2012. The actual competition will take place in Hollywood from 6 July - 15 July 2012.
Once participants have been selected to represent Team Singapore, participants are to submit relevant payments for the costs of travelling, 10 night accommodation at a designated hotel, competition registration fees and other fees as required by WCOPA organisers (totalling an estimated $4,000 - 5,000 SGD for a solo entry). Considering the scale of this competition and the recognition it receives worldwide, this definitely is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for all performing arts professionals!
All of the required fees mentioned above will be made transparent to interested participants during the audition rounds, so that there are no misunderstandings or misrepresentations. There will be strictly no refund or withdrawals once payment is made. Full payment is to be made by way of cash, cheque or NETS latest by 25 April 2012.
I do hope that you and/or your organisation will be keen to support this international competition, and help put more Singapore talent on the world stage! (Foreign talents residing in Singapore are also welcome) Do feel free to contact me at aaron.lim@intunemusic.com.sg to find out more, and also to ask me any queries you may have about this competition.
Join me in this rare opportunity to be on the world stage!
